Our Vision
To establish Portugal West Weddings as a leading brand in the world of weddings and events, elevating the West region to one of the most sought-after destinations in Europe for unique, authentic and memorable celebrations, always with excellence, sensitivity and a deep respect for the identity of each client.
Portugal West Weddings was founded in 2020 with a clear purpose: to respond to the growing need for a complete and specialized service in organizing weddings and events in the West region of Portugal.
This project was born from the experience accumulated over decades, which began with Hélia Arte Floral, whose career in floral design revealed, from an early age, the importance of every detail in creating truly memorable moments. As the years went by, it became clear that many couples were looking for more than just flowers; they wanted comprehensive support, someone to guide them through every step of the planning of their big day.
It was in this context that Portugal West Weddings emerged, driven by the vision and dedication of Rúben, whose connection to the world of events was evident from a very early age. With a keen sensitivity and an entrepreneurial spirit, he brought together a team of experienced, creative wedding planners who are deeply dedicated to the art of welcoming and celebrating.

Our Team
Ruben Melgaço
Founder & CEO
I graduated in Tourism and Event Management, and my main role is managing the family business, Hélia Arte Floral. I am responsible for logistics and Human Resources, as well as the financial control of the organization. I support being part of a simple hierarchy, following collaborative models among team members aimed at overall motivation, growth, and development of the company and everyone involved in it. I invest in the events market in Portugal and strive to differentiate and improve our service by cooperating with Portuguese companies in order to: “offer the best our country has to give.” In doing so, I aim to make each client’s experience unique and special.
Ana Rita Mendes
Wedding Planner
It was in 2018, while organizing my own wedding, that I discovered my passion for the fascinating world of weddings. Fortunately, I realized in time that if I didn’t truly enjoy the day, the celebration wouldn’t be the same. That’s when I personally understood how important it is to have someone by your side to support you through all the sweet (and sometimes not-so-sweet) moments of planning the big “Yes” day. That’s why I became a Wedding Planner, to see couples, their families, and everyone involved in the celebration happy and truly enjoying themselves. I decided that, to move forward on this journey, I needed the right training, and I completed our own Intensive Wedding Planner Course, developed within the company. Combined with my academic background and professional experience in management, I now have the perfect recipe to make your wedding planning process light, joyful, and stress-free.

She holds a degree in Interior Design, is a mother to a little girl, and is in love with a barber. She has always loved weddings, the hustle, the energy, and everything that goes into making the big day happen fascinates her. But it was only after organizing and managing her own wedding that the seed was planted and nurtured enough to bloom. She enrolled in the very first edition of the Wedding Planner course by Portugal West Weddings and is now ready to make dreams come true. Planning a wedding is an unforgettable experience in a couple’s life, but it can also come with some anxiety and stress. That’s where she steps in, to make the journey smooth and peaceful, placing great importance on communication and building a genuine bond with the couple, becoming their right hand on this truly special day.
